Royal Enfield's new model, the Interceptor Bear 650, will feature the well-established air/oil-cooled, 648cc parallel-twin engine. The major differentiator here is its unique two-into-one exhaust system as opposed to the twin pipes found on other 650cc Royal Enfield models.

  1. Will get USD fork
  2. First 650cc RE bike to get two-into-one exhaust

Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650, launch details

The new exhaust is expected to reduce its overall weight and make it more manageable off-road. We had already reported the Interceptor Bear 650’s arrival a couple of months ago, and the design patent now confirms it. The 648cc engine makes 47hp and 52.3Nm in existing models, and we expect the overall output to be the same with slight changes to gearing and fuel mapping. The Interceptor Bear 650 will also include a USD fork like the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650, distinguishing it from the simpler telescopic unit on other 650 twins.

Despite maintaining the twin-shock absorber setup seen in other Royal Enfield 650 models, the Interceptor Bear 650 is expected to feature increased suspension travel. Reflecting a clean, neo-retro design typical of 21st century Royal Enfield models, the Interceptor Bear 650 will exhibit a classic fuel tank, minimal bodywork, LED lighting all around and a compact tail section. The Interceptor Bear 650 is expected to be positioned above the 650 twins, but likely below the flagship Super Meteor 650. We will get more clarity post the bike's launch this year.
